We are extremely proud of our Member Scholarship Fund. This Scholarship Fund was a vision and became a reality under the guidance of Pat Donaghy. Pat was a Celtic Golf Club member before his retirement and still and Honorary Member. Most of the Celtic Member families have benefited from this fund.
As a club we have become ever more conscious of the needy for community involvement and service. The 9-11 tragedy and the needs of various groups and an increasing number of fund raiser for worthy causes made us aware that we were in a unique position to be able to act and help. Monies raised at our yearly tournament are designate to fund for donations to qualify needy causes and community service. Recognizing that our membership is comprised of many individuals of varied talents, positions, abilities and contacts; the Celtic Golf Club has strived to utilize our membership expanding beyond the golf umbrella for the betterment of our community. Our Members are active and serve on organizations such as the Rockland Irish American Cultural Center, Rockland Gaelic Football Club, The AOH, our Local Churches, our Local Churches, and Local Politics, Dominican College, Seniors Groups and many other community Groups.
Our membership is changing and growing with the next generation now in the club. They must now become increasingly more involved and important as we get older and they mature. The new members and next generation represent our Club’s future. The club believes we leave them a strong history and legacy for them to continue, group and build upon.
Scholarship Program
The Celtic Golf Club Scholarship Program was founded in 1987 and has been one of the many memorable achievements of our club. Over sixty candidates from within our membership have received scholarship awards. with many recipients receiving multiple awards during their college years. Our scholarship program was the vision of Pat Donaghy. right from the start his involvement made this program a reality. pat is our good friend, and current member. Pat was instrumental in the success of the early years of the program. Pat’s generosity, ingenuity, and guidance in the formative years insured the healthy growth, stability, and development of the program.
Over the past years, the Celtic Golf Club Scholarship Program has awarded almost $100,000.00 to the college enrolled children of our members. We are very proud of this scholarship program.
Charitable Program
Our charitable program was established following the September 11, 2001 World Trade Center disaster. The program initiated to help and assist individuals and organizations as well as other clubs .
In the years that our charitable program has been in existence, we have distributed over $50,000.00 to worth individuals, clubs and organizations and we are very proud of our accomplishments in this regard.
